Dreaming Memories
They came from far and wide
Their travels had them align
At the same space in time
The same frequency
From every colour of the medicine wheel
They came
RED
YELLOW
WHITE
BLACK
Many experiences
One calling
One transmission
Those who felt called came
By bus, by plane
By boat, by foot
Anyway that they could
They gathered there
Smiling, laughing, full of joy
Some wearing brightly coloured kente cloth
Others wore intricate beadwork
Many had animal skins and other adornments from nature
Painted faces, tattoos and henna
Silk, satin, cashmere, Egyptian cotton
And every other linen or covering you could imagine
Fabric woven with gold glistened in the sun
Oh what wonderful fun in
Oneness
The smell of baking bread and peace pipes
Mingled with the incense from the sacred fire
Ascended into the sky
Jingle dresses chimed away with their ancestral strut
Masked dancers moved in ways that seemed other worldly
Chanting was heard in all known spoken and unspoken languages
All fuelled by the drum
As the cadence kept the rhythm and breath
They crowed around the drum circle like a campfire
Every one was lit
Adding to the intensity of the moment
Near the water the throat singing echoed off the surface of the lake
All around and into the nearby hills and valleys
There the animals stood watching the spectacle
The children did round dances with hands held together
Swinging back and forth with contentment
All these souls came to do the same thing
Listen, give thanks and join in
(And those who couldn’t make it zoomed in)
But they didn’t need the internet
No!
The connection
Was there
The connection was invisible
